Private pay is an option for individuals, couples, and families seeking therapy without using insurance benefits. This option offers flexibility in how you access and pay for services.

If financial concerns are a barrier to accessing therapy, I am committed to working with you to explore available options. A sliding-scale fee (reduced session rate) may be available for those who qualify. Please reach out to discuss eligibility. If your insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement for a portion of your therapy costs. Superbills are available upon request to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.

Under the federal No Surprises Act, healthcare providers must offer an estimate of the expected cost of care to individuals who are paying out-of-pocket or not using insurance. You have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" in writing at least 1 business day before the service is rendered. Additionally, if you receive a bill that is $400 or more than the Good Faith Estimate, you have a legal right to dispute the charge. Keep a copy of your estimate for your records.

Payment is due at the time of service. Acceptable forms of payment include major credit cards, such as American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa. For out-of-pocket billing, the practice will automatically charge the credit card on file. For insurance billing, claims will be submitted directly on your behalf. If applicable, you are responsible for copays, coinsurance, or deductibles based on your specific plan. These costs will be charged to the card on file after your insurance has processed the claim. All invoices and receipts are available for your review directly in the client portal.

Please notify me by phone at least 24 hours before your appointment if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than a 24-hour notice will incur a fee equal to 50% of the session rate (after a one-time courtesy waiver for the first occurrence). Failure to attend your appointment without prior notice (a no-show) will incur a fee equal to 50% of the session rate for the first occurrence, and 100% of the session rate for any subsequent no-shows. The practice will automatically charge the credit card on file under this policy without exception.

Please notify me immediately by phone if you are running late and provide an estimated arrival time. If you arrive or log on more than 15 minutes late, the appointment will be canceled, treated as a no-show, and subject to the corresponding no-show fee. If you arrive late but within the 15-minute grace period, the session will conclude at the originally scheduled time without extension, and the full session rate still applies. Similarly, if you choose to end a session early for any reason, you remain responsible for the full session rate, and the practice will charge the credit card on file accordingly.
